I've got lovely gong gun for Mr Songhurst, it's a beauty but not sure if I'd sell it unless for "decent milk money" aye

    He know's where I am

PS - Nothing more rewarding than buying quality, with this idea he's got, next thing he'll be buying a GWM ute hahahaha

Nothing more shit than having to flog that “quality” off cheap when the bills roll in either bro hahah. I’ve got one decent setup now I’m happy with just want something to fluff around with that won’t break the bank or be a temporary investment waiting for the next gst bill to come in

Whats wrong with using that as a gong gun?
It'll make you a better shot on animals, recently spent a day on gongs with a fully wooded 303 and iron sights out to 1000 yards heck it was fun.
Look back on Tim Watsons posts mate I'm sure he did something similar with a rem 700 300 win mag and sightron for less with great results

Typically you shoot a lot of rounds from a gong gun and it get's hot read burned throat, heated wood etc. It would be a waste IMHO to use your Sako.

Buy a Howa as a barrel'd action and put in a chassis or target stock.

I reckon 300man is on the money if your doing it on the cheap and a secondhand NF NXS.

Yeah I understand that but also believe it's more sensible than picking 6.5 prc which will eat itself in well under a 1000 rounds on gongs, not to mention the component shortage.

The hotrod chamberings are pretty amazing though. My 7mm fatmax I sold in 2020, has fired less rounds now than when I sold it, so barrel life is increasing.

Don't buy one of the mossbergs. My cousin though the same when he went to sell it he couldn't give it away. So decided to keep it. It's now in at a smith's with the bolt seized shut from some unknown reason and will likely remain there as it's not worth further funds as it wasnt a nice rifle even before. You like nice things Ryan remember the Sauer that you hated. Atleast with a howa, Tikka etc you shouldn't lose much when you get bored especially if you buy one second hand.

I've got an omark that was rebarrelled by a Mr Woods with a heavy 3006 barrel that I'm slowly turning into a gong gun to scratch that long range itch. It just needs a picatinny rail on top now to replace the weaver one that someone modified.
I hope to have it completed for under $1500 with the most expensive bit by far being the optics. One round at a time and no mag should let me seat as long as I like.
