Depends at what weight you set them at but incredibly crisp and predictable. They do single and two stage triggers.

if you are a little bit engineering minded a couple of diamond files and a bit of wet and dry and you can get the trigger nice as . ive done about 10 so far .not as good as a kidd but for the price massively better than stock

I thought about improving the trigger on my old 10/22 for 30 years but never got around to it, then one day put it into a second hand choate dragunov stock, the difference that just changing the stock made was incredible. Technically it must still be the same, but feels so different it's like a whole new trigger, must better for fast shots at moving targets.

I replaced the mag release with an after market version but that can be activated with the sling very easily. Its occurred many times. I've been thinking of going back to an original flush release.
Ah, thank you for that, so my concerns are justified. The lever that is on it already does a good job, mag just drops straight out, no fiddly sticking fingers anywhere. From what I can gather, the older rugers were a "flush" lever, newer ones tend to have a longer lever hanging down - I might be wrong.

    Cheers for the info.

So has anyone worked on a BX trigger to improve it - I have fitted them on 2 10/22s and they’re a step up but still way short of ideal?

It is kidd or nothing. That simple.

Don't waste your money on anything else (rail, mag release, buffer, trigger bits, stock)before you get a kidd trigger.

So no one has mentioned a Volquartsen one yet, is there a reason?

The ruger design is inherently limiting. VQ simply makes the same thing but more precise , cost the same as KIDD. KIDD is an entirely different, and far better design. So why spend the money getting something that is inherently inferior?

    Cheers for that.

So you're saying why spend the money on a ruger because it is inherently inferior? Inferior compared to what?

Or are you talking about just the trigger.

Also in what way is the KIDD trigger different (what part(s) are designed better)?

Thanks for your time, info, and knowledge it is greatly appreciated.

The Ruger design is inferior compared to Kidd.

As to what is different in the design. It is like this. The 10/22 trigger mechanism is inside a box. Ruger designed one set of internals and placed it into that box. KIDD made a different design from the ground up, placed its design into a box of the same dimensions. it is two stage and it can make huge amount of adjustment. can be set to 3 ounce / 3 ounce.

One of my 10/22 has the extended mag release. After about five minutes actually using the rifle I popped home and sawed it off with a hacksaw. Tidied up with a file.

    You will lose your magazine.

Only cost arround $80-100 depending who you use

Most good trigger jobs are as good if not better than a bx trigger

In saying that I have a $600 2 stage kidd on my rifle
Oh and a kidd barrel bolt recever the works
Only part that isn’t kidd is the magazines lol

That being said a $3k (includeing rings and scope) is not required for the average shooter or even me these days
    I don’t comp shoot anymore
It’s awsome for shooting tiny groups on the range it will Compete with any high end bolt gun on the market
And has an accuracy guarantee of sub moa at 50m
From my experience it will surpass that without trying

But you don’t need that for hunting a factory 10/22 with a half decent trigger is all you need to 100m for small game/pests whatever you call it

When my uncle got his Fal I spent his money for him and got him a 2nd hand houge stanless 10/22 off a mate completely factory but my mate had the trigger worked by a gunsmith i sighted it in for him
It was Amazingly accurate (for a factory 10-22) and has shot more possums rabbits and turkeys than id like to imagine

The worked trigger makes that rifle what it is a solid hunting rig
