    It's more fun to shoot at 1000m because stalking gongs is gay, they have terrible eye sight you can walk right to them

    308 will do it
    6.5x55 does it quite well (modern action)
    most / all 7mms do it quite
    just pick a rifle that fits well and fit the budget

    One designed to handle modern pressures of around 60,000psi.

    SAAMI set a maximum average pressure of 46,000cup due to the number of older weaker actions around, hence factory ammo is weak and in a modern action hand loading can improve its performance substantially.

    Version like a new tikka or sako etc

    I have just bought a 260 and a mate has a 284 i wouldent go past both of these too many people have 6.5 x55 now . Not saying it's a bad choice it's an amazing round but just too common for me
