Thread: 11 Inch Barrell too short on 22 magnum ???

Quick question as above.. Too short and if so what would be minimum you cut it to ??

I don't want to wreck the gun but want it to still reach 150 to 200 mtrs for hares rabbits etc although will be mostly closer than that.

Hornady V Max 30 Grain is what I m thinking of using with it.

Any tips welcome.. Hack saw coming its way very soon.. (Nah Ill use the lathe ha ha)

If your shooting hares and rabbits your bound to be out in the open so whats wrong with a long gun?

There's some damage I wish to remove. I can remove all the damage at 11 inches or most at 12 to 13 inch mark.
Its a low value project for a bit of fun not a collectable valuable gun at all. Be nice to have it all tidy though..
I intend to keep it not flick it off or anything. Also have mate s with youngsters that will use it so short is good for them.
It will be suppressed also.

Cut it right down. See what happens. If ya fuk it for lr stuff you still have the hmr

is it still over 762mm with 11 inches of barrel?
If yes then go for it. why not

it will be a bit noisy but suppress it if that is an issue

Not too much change as far as accuracy etc and range ?

who cares.
my 12 inch 223 is one of the best rifles i have.

unless you are going to compare figures on paper its still going to shoot and knock over rabbits, It will be noiser but it beats having a fucked barrel
just keep it above legal
22 magnum figures will be out there if you look hard enough

accuracy? who knows? depends on a bunch of factors. short barrels are allways stiffer
sounds like the barrel is buggered anyway so things can only get better
