The 80g eldm will do the trick then.
I will try the 88 and see I reckon.
Will be interesting if it be ones unstable further out.
I tried some hornady monos in my old barrel and they were sending them through the paper sideways, pretty hard case and some 73g projectiles through my 1-12 223 did the same.
    Interesting times!

And then we had the guy at our rifle club using a fast twist and heavier projectiles - a few poofs and not reaching the target. Don't know what the projectiles were. Barrel was new too.

Always a possibility when the bullet leaves the barrel at about 400,000 rpm could be messy inside a suppressor

1-14 is standard twist for 22-250
Will go upto 55gn no worries

My brother has a 22-250 and uses the 55gn sako game head factory ammo
Shoots amazing and kills even better
Fantastic stuff on goats and fallow deer
But I wouldn’t have any problem with sticking one behind the sholder of a red it may go a few meters depending but will definitely be a dead deer

Mmmm, more like low to mid 300 thou rpm but mute point.
On occasion we did see the odd "mist". Never far from the muzzle.

I think you mean "moot" point. A mute point is somewhat difficult to make, maybe involving sign language.

Yeah dead correct. Brain not in sync with what I was typing. Common these days unfortunately. Having to ask wife a lot now how to spell simple words as well. :-(

Cheers for that. I'm thinking the 55gr will still suit my purposes.
Not interested in rebarreling a brand new Sako...

What model are you looking at?
Experience. What you get just after you needed it.

not in a fast twist barrel it wont be..... 1;12 at 3000 fps = 3000x60seconds =180,000 rpm an 1;8 twist is 180,000 plus half that 90,000 18plus9=27 poke the zeroes back on 270,000 which anywhich way you look at it is a hell of a lot of G force/centrifugal force trying to rip projectile apart and thats at 3000 fps bump it up by % and the RPM goes up by same percentage

I understand it was the issue with the early fast .224s and the 17s as well... the projectiles were not stout enough and simply ripped apart before touching target.... swift was the classic for it..... the 1;14 twist helped it no end as slowed rotation down ..now we speed it up for smaller cartridges to stabalise heavy pills and are trying to go same fast twist in bigger/faster cases to handle heavier projectiles
its a catch 22 make projectiles soft enough to work in slower speeds and they wont handle fast sped and fast twist
make them hard enough to handle fast speed and fast twist and the ywont expand slower.....
22-250 is a .223 on steroids if fed the same projectile it adds a bit more range and flatter bullet path under 300 yards.... flatter than a flat thing.
