Can imagine chasing around after your brass for that! Do you hunt with it or just targets?

Ideally Hornady bring out the 22/250 Creedmore next, basically similar to the 22/250 Ackley with more efficient case. Make good cheap ammo and brass, firearms makers rush to build 1:7 & 1:8 twist factory rifles and becomes the most popular cartridge of 2020, although not much changed since 1933 :-).

Had a couple and currently a Mod 700 Rem, mostly used on goats but have shot fallow and a few reds, they are fat shooting and deadly out to about 350 - 400 yards but do lack in stopping power out far. As a goat or small game rifle they are very efficant. My load is 55 gr Noslar BT and 36 grs AR2208 at 3600 fps.

It already exists @jackson21. The wildcat .22 Creedmoor is starting to get some real traction in the states and its only a matter of time before it is commercialised.

Ruger Predator @ 19" with Oceania Suppressor is pretty darn light, and handy length, the Bushnell 4.5-18 LRHS weights it down a bit.
Intend to end up with a VX5 3-15 Firedot and ballistic turret on top will be nice rig when get around to it and drop weight back again. The big zoom on the Bushnell is nice for the neck shots.

Love my Sako 22-250. Couldn’t get the 60gr partitions to shoot in the 1 in 14 twist. It’s lethal out to 300 with Sierra game king 55gr SBT, 36.5 gr Varget at 3500 fps, mostly sika and fallow, the odd red. Mostly straight down dead, close in try for neck or head, further out chest.

    Had a 223 tikka 1:8 reamed to 22-204.

Best 22 centre fire out there.

22-250AI performance with 30grains or less of powder...

    75gr @ 3100 from a 22” barrel
    55gr @ 3850....

But they are an old, old design and even the most ardent fan would have to admit they're a pretty inefficient cartridge. For a 50gr pill, compared to a fast powdered .223 you're looking at roughly 10-15% more velocity for 35-38% more powder, and a whole lot bigger bang. Like real loud!

I do like them, but I also think maybe sometimes we can struggle to see clearly through our rose tinted sunglasses... you know, on the odd occasion. If I was looking at a fast .22 cal the only .22-250 I'd consider would be one of the fast twist ones, from Bergara or Savage (both 1:9"), or Ruger (1:10"). It makes more sense to me like that, we have much much better bullets these days, and the long, high BC .22s are right up there as genuine all rounders, but we can't use them in most .22-250s, which are slow twist.

But that said its fine to just stick with the tried and true, the old 1:14" twist and light, super fast bullets. The the old ways killed enough animals perfectly dead didn't they? I guess I just like the the wider range of options that today's faster twist barrels provide the shooter.
Does it make more sense to launch the same or slightly greater weight of pill out of a 243 for a better result?

Did you need to make changes to mag length etc?

Hmm now you’ve got me thinking, would save changing the bolt face. Is this something that @Kiwi Greg does?

Had a RugerM77 MkII for years, 55g Sierra SBT all day long 200m headshots on Fallow no issues.
I sold it as I want to throw bigger pills.
Built a .22-243 instead and it is a beast, 75g Amax or Scirocco lethal, just doing load development at presentand I like...
That said .22-250 Ruger popped up the other week so have one again...
