Had an old single shot savage .22lr that I had rechamber to .22wmr was very accurate.
When shooting lamp shy possums out of stone pines. They would always turn there heads away from the light. So could soak up .22lr not so the big brother. Thumped them.
Brought a CZ back to NZ before these bullock new rules that I had tricked up here. New trigger etc. That was also on the money. Brother brought that.
Seen to many .17 that blow the bolt. So not so keen on that round…split cases and all.
There was a lever action that Brain Bourdon (might have miss spelled his last name) wrote about in his book “Of Mountains Men and Deer” that I would have loved to have gotten my hands on.
