The Walther P22 is just as bad/worse than the Mosquito

Everyone seems to have forgotten the Beretta 87t?
Great ergonomics, super accurate, looks cool, full picatinny top rail etc
Same pile sorry... Ugly ...
NEEEEXT!!
s&w 2206 based on the 41 is beautiful and accurate
Here's the prettier version, shit grip I know.
When it comes to 22 pistols , just call me OLD school , or just OLD , But to me , a 22lr is going to get shoot alot , as ammo should be cheap , and other point is you not having to reload for IT .
as its going to get used alot , and because I donot think the zinc potmetal will last , I would not ever get a aluminium or zinz slide pistol , to me they make no sense at all , except they are cheap ???? ,
Me I like the S&W 41 , Ruger MKIIs and most Beretta 70 series models , I have no experience with the Walther PPs & PPKs in 22lr , but as they are real steel , maybe worth a look .
The 41 is too dear new , look at 2nd hand .
I run a Beretta 76 target and find it very good , its basically the longer barrelled version of the smaller M70 .
The Isrealis did some good work with suppressed M70s , and they had acess to anything , they choose the M70 .
Like all things , IF you want a really nice " THING " , it costs more , but may last longer & do a better job .

The look-alike .22s can't have steel slides as it's too much mass for the .22 to cycle. The breechblock is still steel, it's only the outer slide that's aluminium. Zinc alloy is less than ideal, but if you're worried about machined aluminium for the slide you might want to stay away from 10/22s, AR15s and all the shotguns that use aluminium receivers.
A Walther PP in .22 would be pretty cool.
Actually the look alike 22lrs can have steel slides , just like the CZ75 Kadets etc and several other hi-end conversion kits , me I prefer not to buy guns made from zinc etc .
You can design and make 22s just like the CZ Kadet , BUT they are not as cheap as the zinc/alum guns , thier is a steel 22 kit for the Glocks , its almost the same cost as a complete Glock centerfire pistol however .
Only a section of the Kadet's 'slide' actually reciprocates, so it can be made from steel. Full size 22 conversions that have fully reciprocating slides can't be all steel, even high end ones like Kimber and Sig are aluminium. The Glock conversion that you mentioned, the TSG-22, is a steel outer slide with an aluminium breechblock.
The tactical solutions Glock kit has quite bad reviews. The Advantage Arms kit reviews better. It's a pity Glock don't make a factory .22 gun.
I intend to buy a Kadet kit + a 9mm CZ 75.
