I wonder if anyone has done any serious testing of .22 cans?
Also ammo makes a difference. I shoot 40 or 42gr Winchester subs. They are notably louder than some old 36 gr through the same rifle

    Sent from my workbench
If i could have a full time job shooting pests i'm up for over time.

I will start surfing the web to see what I can find, and what costs what...

The little spring one that seems a bit dodgy by some of the feedback here, helps, but its in no way mega quiet, even with the 710fps whispers...

I have one of these as well. (Also since about the early to mid 90s). It worked really well until I used it on a SS Marlin. Barrel was too thin and I was too young to think of checking, next shot the entire front is down range, Later after some fibreglass was applied and the front was replaced with a milk bottle top, it works as well as the day I got it, but it is a bit heavier now...

Our gunsmith has a pretty good opinion of the MAE Mighty mouse suppressor and has also been giving some guidance as the apprentice here develops his own design. No springs and fixed baffles.
