I've got a .270 and i was considering to do some handloads sometime down the line just wondering what the limitations are
You burn heaps of powder for aforementioned shitty low BC bullets.

270WSM is the answer then, more powder but a little faster too. 1:8 twist and send a 16xgr bullet

270 may become "usefull" if the new pills pushing the BC work well enough

I had a 270 for about 3 months Remington 700 B&C mountain rifle I probably used half a packet of bullets thru it, came to the conclusion I didnt like remingtons or 270s
ended up with a tikka in 280 that Im happy enough with, nothing fancy but throws high BC pills accurately which is all I want

"If game can tell the difference between a 270 and 280 they are smarter than I thought"-I agree with that guy

"peoples experiences with both calibres"= deer died when I shot them with 2506, out to 300m and deer died with 270 when I shot them out to 300m, id weigh in favour of 270, for the just in case factor...

anything above 243 is gonna be dead deer medicine out to 400m if you are up to it.

everyman and his dog has their own particular fav, and we'll be hearing about them for weeks to come im guessin

They can tell the difference when your shot gets blown off the lungs into the guts.

If i ever upgrade from 308 it will be a 7mm of some sort.

Are you trying to say the 280 is significantly less effected by wind than the 270?

You would obviously want to "improve" your 280 then.

the 270 is fine if you select a high BC bullet designed for its task, most bullets are poor BC and shed their energy pretty quickly. berger 150vlds should be a great bullet as should the nosler LR range that is coming out.

people just love to hate the 270 Me included

No, usually atlas joint/neck if easy shot, lungs if long/poor rest/windy or just dont feel confident on a neck shot.
