If it wasnt for Sophie the dog i would not bother with a can . But she doesnt like rifles without one so it will get one . I was more worried about how much to take off as shortening some calibers can really suck the life out of them . I have had rifles cut down to 20 with no real great loss in performance but both of these were handloaded so that redressed the performance some what . This one how ever will be just using factory for the time being . thanks for the input so far guys really helpful

My 270 is 20” still pushes factory 145 eldx at 2850, plenty of guts out past 500 still, and a nice length
shortened mine to 22. Running a GW suppressor.
It's hard to find a .270 that runs at full power nowadays. Used to be a great cartridge.
