Also 100gr hollowpoints at 3450 over AR2206H just to make wallabies die spectacularly.

Sierras. Shit BC. Just low recoil fun inside 200m with the thermal.

I think I could squeeze about 3550-3600 out of them now with some different powder.

Mate what powder were you sending the 160s at 2950 with?

I'd expect to be around 3k with 160gr projectiles with a 26" barrel if you use rl26.

26” bbl I’d imagine a lot of powders will get it their it’s a very impressive very efficient often over looked cartridge

Mine is at 18.5". I get 2700 comfortably with 162gr ELD-Ms and 54.4gr of RL16 or around 55.5gr 2209 with a bit higher pressure. I have pushed it up to 2800 but was getting ejector swipes and hard bolt lifts.

Tikka 7mm08 rechambered by Mitch Maxberry. Its been throated longer than standard so a 162 sits with the start of the boat tail just below the neck. Using Lapua brass and Russian primers.

Plain old 2209. Like Kelton pointed out, it's a 26" tube.

So silly question, .284 being 7mm, are you folk all refering to a specific calibre, like 7mm08, or 7x57mm? Or to 7mm calibres in general?
I know a lot but it seems less every day...

The Eldms work flecking well at those velocities. Absolute medicine from 6 - 600
