    284win optics

    Hey folks.

Long time since I've posted( phone issues and remembering passwords)

At some stage in the near future I'd like to upgrade my 284s scope.

I run a vx5 HD 2-10 on my 308 and I absolutely love it to pieces.

As such it's made my older VX3 4.5-14x40 B+C seem average at best.

    So.

New scope in the next 6 months-
    X18 magnification as the maximum(preferably x15 or x16).
Easily resetable zero stop elevation turret.
    Second focal plane.
    Side focus.
    Not Vortex optics.
    Budget of 2k maximum.

I'm not worried on reticle as I find a wide duplex for that style of open shooting is preferably.

I like the VX5 3-15x44 CDS ZL2 alot but just wanted to double check I hadn't thought of something else ?

Hard to look past the VX5hd with those specifications and no Vortex.
I have a 3-15x44 VX5hd with the Impact29 reticle I am wanting to sell, PM me if interested.

Only other thing I can think of in the budget would be the burris.
There are plenty of options out there but most lack the zero stop.
    Oh z5 ?

Steiner GS3 3-15x50mm $2k would be my pick, pretty highly rated overseas but doesn't tick all your boxes

Moepta I think would also for the bill if you wanted 18x but I think the vx5 would probably be the go. I have a vx6 and love it

Yes. I have 3 and they are outstanding.

But I wanted to upgrade the 'scope on my 7/08 from a top end of 12x to a bit more and didn't want to spend the USD750 of the Tract so have just ordered this from Cameraland NY. It will be pretty good value even after the USD conversion and adding GST/fees. About $800 NZD landed:

    Payment Type: Pay On Line
    Transaction Payment Status: SETTLED
    ORDER SUMMARY

Burris Signature HD 3-15x44mm - Plex (Open Box )
    Sku:

    Price: $429.99
    Qty: 1

    Subtotal: $ $429.99
    Shipping Fee: $ $49.99
    Total: $ $479.98

No gst or duty on that transaction.
Since the total value of the goods is less than or equal to $1000, the duty is waived.
