    There was a Thomas Porter involved in the land wars around 1870 in the East Coast area. I would have expected his rifle to be well worn though.

    If the last letter is an 'R' why does it not appear the same as the middle letter that is an 'R' without doubt ?

    @akaroa1...hmmm 45-70 is a cartridge that interests but I am yet to try. Would like to try the 50-110 too some day....just well....bang boom smoke....you know
