    Your 6.5-284 sounds like a good choice. That velocity of 2840 for the 140grn is from a 21.5" barrel, norma cases, N560 and Amax. No pressure signs but I get flat primers going up another .5 grn.

    Yes @Tahr and @Gibo. I just was'nt wanting to say so high. 2800+ with 140gn from 6.5*55 is plurry accurate in mine. Need a strong modern action though; not an old one.

    Yep. Same here @Tahr. I have 308 and 30-06 as well as the 6.5*55 bbl for it now. Shoots v well with all three; although the 30-06 bbl has a very short lead which took some extra load experimentation to sort out, but it's really good in that shoulder bump when resizing is virtually nil.
