Has anyone used one or know anything about this round?
I'm just gathering my funds to start a long range build and from what I've heard it sounds like a pretty good choice....
as always any words of wisdom much appreciated!

I like the look of it too, as there should be no worries reaching the lands out of a short action mag such as a rem model 7 as it is a shorter case than .308. Most would say just get a .260 as it is more or less identical in capacity and there is lapua brass. Only 6.5CM brass available is hornady, although I have read it can be formed from .22-250 brass or even .308 brass. An article on it here. People are wildcatting it to 7mm also. Hornady do a cheap die set which is supposed to be fine and apparently they even put the reload recipe on the packets of Hornady factory anmmo?
ah ha some one has! well my main reason for it being that it was designed specifically to be supersonic to 1200 yards which it does quite well, ive gone on and done a a few numbers through a ballistic calculator based on the 140gr A max and 140gr Berger loads available and the maximum range energy wise for deer is around 850yards which is what I'm after! the other cool thing about it is that :LR-65 These guys make one in 6.5 creedmore! I think I'd change the barrel to a trueflight though and get it fluted to save weight.... Its an intresting concept i know and alot of people will bad mouth the idea but you gotta admit the idea of staying on target for a super quick follow up shot at that range could make quite the diff??????
I ordered a rifle in 6.5 Creedmoor a while ago but it was going to take too long so put in on the back burner, so obviously I do find the round appealing. The biggest advantage over the 260 is being able to seat the bullffets to better suit the throat in some rifles with short mags. Don't think the there is much difference beyond that in the real world.
BUT if I was going for a real long range I wouldn't choose it for anything but paper punching. You want something with a bit more guts, say a 6.5-06 or one of the 7mm rounds.
As for a fast second shot, well it's going to dependwhat was wrong with the first one - did you misjudge the wind, bullet drop, did you put enough adjustment on the scope. a fast second shot isnt going to help any of those probs.
Not knock the rifle your looking at, just the fast second shot thing only crosses my mind when culling goats. rabbits etc, at ranges where adjusments aren't necessary.
+1 dumb long range for shooting animals, paper be sweet tho, just for them quick follow up shoots.......
hmmm.... I'm taking this on board don't worry! cheers!
Best AR LR cartridge is 6mm Turbo Imp. 105vld at 2900fps
Runs out of a 15 with off the shelf bits
What About 6.5 Super LR? Still no good for long stuff!
.260 Rem (left) vs 6.5mm Super LR (left Center) vs 6.5 Creedmoor (right center) vs 6.5 x 47 Lapua (right)
6.5 Super LR
That super LR case is a fine looking beastie
