Mate has an 18inch barreled bolt action one. the 3 deer and a pig he got last weekend all prove it works. All bullets went in and out the other side and fartherest was just over 300 he said. You wont be disapointed I think.

I'm keenly awaiting the release of the CZ 527 American in grendel, If you want a true micro action probably wait for those? They come with a 24" barrel too.
I would look to use 120gr Pro Hunters, boring old cup and core Soft Point Flat Base, but I've shot plenty of smaller animals with them nothing too large but they have all gone down on the spot and that was out of a 6.5x55 shooting them slow, about 2650 fps - the Grendel should be able to push that same pill to 2500 fps out of a 24"

Currently gathering bits to put together a Grendel. Hope to have mine made & sorted this winter. I have a 260Imp & the Grendel will be its little bro.

Are the Howas magazine fed or do they have a conventional floor plate?

So the Howa is confirmed to be coming the 6.5 Grendel then? I heard earlier on that they were not destined for NZ market. Maybe the importers have had a rethink?

I will be after an AR Grendel as soon as I can source a barrel (dam will have to sell some stuff to pay for it).

There are a couple of different chamber specs with the AR barrels, some are the Grendel with the compound throat (original Alexander Arms design) and some with the standard parallel throat (Grendel II).

That magazine setup looks like it'd be a pain in the arse I reckon.

Yeah, I might consider one if they make one with a standard floor plate, would make a great first centre fire for the rugrat when his time comes.

That detachable setup looks cumbersome as hell to me, and sticks out exactly where you would carry it.
    GWH and mikee like this.
