    7 saum on trade me

Hope everyone is having a great Xmas day.

Anyone know or have any info on the 7SAUM
listed on trade me? Link at bottom.

The store don't know a lot about it.
Model 7 maybe too short to load long 180s?

Any info will be much appreciated.

    Greetings,
I think that the twist will be too slow for 180 grain projectiles. I think that the barrel will be 22 inch if it is original. Probably made around 2004 with the bolt lock like that. Max cartridge length is likely to be a little over 70mm if the mag is standard.

As above, if it's a standard barrel will probably have too slow twist.

I have a Mod 7 in saum, max I can get in the mag is about 2.830" OAL, I shoot 162s out of mine. I personally haven't shot or looked into the heavier projectiles and probably won't intend to given the shorter length and I don't really want to single feed.

The twist rate I believe is 9.25". Once I used up my 162gr I'm probably going to tinker with a 143gr hammer hunter due to I assume it'll fit nice in the mag

I got one similar. I dual load for it: 162 gr amax and 140 gr Barnes. More or less a similar trajectory. I have pushed the 162,s up to 650m.

If it is a Duley build it may have a faster twist barrel.

Ask the shop when they re-open what the twist rate is. If they don't know ask them to measure it, just need a cleaning jag, cleaning rod, and a tape measure.
I've looked at that one too but unless it's a custom barrel it's probably priced a bit high. In saying that I really like McMillan stocks.
If it is a custom barrel with faster twist rate I would say it's not bad buying.

The standard REM barrel on the Model7 SAUM will shoot the 162s real well. Once the barrel is shot out replace it with a fast twist. Shoot a mag fit load for spook & shoot, and a single feed load for long range.

    Thanks everyone,
They have that rifle for long so wondering why is not selling.
I'll give them another call when open.
If fully factory maybe a bit steep pribut if custom
With fast twist is not too bad

Hey mate, that's one of my old rifles
It's priced to sell he wants 3600 for the diavari, gun and reloading gear absolute bargin, considering the value of the scope alone.
Don't believe everything old mate in the shop tells you he's known to stretch the truth a bit....
I didn't shoot that load, but it shot well when I had it.

Absolute bargain at $3600 including scope. Stunning glass.

I'd say there's a high chance every secondhand rifle in CHB had been yours at one time or another Merry Christmas fella
