Fuck that! Surprised only the stock is broken looking at the damage on the case. They are going to get someone injured…

I'm surprised a case could split that much without damage to the action.

Of all the things to of broken im surprised it was the stock but I am sceptical of what I read on the internet at the best of times the case certainly is cooked though

That looks really strange, fair bit of case unsupported by the chamber,
Hard to believe the case expanded that much if the chamber was intact, unless it has been opened up after being pulled out of the chamber ?
I have seen that sort of damage to a case before it was a smaller case fired in a magnum chamber

Correct no room for the case to go anywhere so if said photo is true id say it was a thin wall in the brass and its given their and melted a fair bit? Either way very poor wish the major brass brands jumped on board with the none problematic blaser magnum, but millions and millions in sales of ammo alone so far with the 7 prc so someones winning not the consumer

last year my older brother had a VERY close call.... grabbed rounds to load 7mm mag...poked one in.....didnt want to eject...he had somehow managed to poke a .308 round in....had it held in bolt life could have got rather interesting in a hurry
looking at that blown case...any chance its something like a .260 ????

put me right off that sort of ammunition completely
I had some 165gr sst stuff about 4 or 5 years ago

First round was good. Second was super stick bolt lift and flattened primer, third round was the same as the second. I got the ammo and gave it to a mate to pull the projectiles and use the cases + projectiles.

Just another reason to reload haha

    Greetings,
It would be worth measuring the case at the forward edge of the extractor groove and comparing it with an unfired case. It does look to me that it was an undersize round rather than high pressure. There are some overpressure cases in my collection (not fired by me) and they don't look anything like that. It could also be a drawer fault in the case.
    Regards Grandpamac.

Things getting pretty consistent with ADG brass, H4831sc and 180eldm. These are 300m group. Time to take it out for a hunt.
