What is the problem with gunsmiths working on T3's? I thought lots of people had 7-08s drilled out to 0.284 were their issues?

Hard steel causing tooling issues. I think the odd rechamber was getting some chatter and wrecking the chamber/barrel. Gunsmiths take the risk here as the professional so I'm guessing a lot decided it wasn't worth the risk/damage to the tooling

Hey guys gun should be getting put together this week. Have a 25-06 tikka and a 20" 284 barrel. Does the gunsmith just screw the barrel onto the existing rifle and it is done? Length wise I am thinking I will go 18" due to mostly bashing around in the bush with the odd trip where I can stretch the legs out anywhere from a couple hundred to as far as I can try to shoot.

Well this is not ideal. Run the brass through a fl resizing die(brass happily Chambers) but as soon as I load up a round it will not chamber at all. Anyone have any ideas???? Losing my mind at the moment

Tight neck chamber maybe? Or projectiles jamming in the lands?

If it's not a first round hit you need to practice more

Try something like a vld 140? A couple of guys run them in their 284s on here. They didn't work in mine I had the opposite throating situation

Come to the conclusion the brass is too long after comparing with saami specs so I have just ordered a case trimmer from gunworks. If that does not work I may have to get the chamber opened up which is a pain. Have tried 120vmax and 162eldms with no rifling marks on either projectile. End of the day could just be a very tight chamber. Am using factory Winchester brass btw
