    Yeah i have a good load using 165s but they are big sierra hollowpoints. Sounds to me like a dialable scope and perhaps a more 'slippery' pill like an SST 165.

    Have a really good little scope at the moment(vx3 2.5-8x36 B&C reticle) in mint condition but is a bit light for longer stuff..ideally would put a vx3 3.5-10 with CDS dials or similar on it.

    If you already have a Tikka 308, and really want to build something on it, and like the 284win idea, how about reaming out your 308 barrel to 30-284.

    Vietnamcam has a 30-284 and it goes pretty hard from what I understand.
