Howas come in 6.5x55, with an 1:8 twist too. I wish I knew that before I went custom Howa.

    Definately get a Howa.

I will keep the winchester in mind just depends on what my budget allows as I will be needing to buy a new wagon when I get back too as I sold my primera to raise funds to keep bills and rent upto date till I start sending money home.

I will email my local shop while in aussie and see if they can dig me up a howa in 6.5x55 if not then will stick with my original decision between 270 and 7mm08

Got me a 6.5x55 Howa barrelled action (blued) a few months back, apparently it was the last one the distributers in NZ had - they were talking March before more stock arrives , cheap as chips though!

Looks good that's rifle. Gotta love wood grain

That stock certainly looks the part. I think I would definitely go for a howa will try to see if I can get a bare rifle then I can go for the optics and rings I want and hopefully get a gunworks suppressor then I would look into going for a boyds stock later down the track but I would go for the Prairie hunter as it has a cheek rest.
