The Optilocks ringmounts do have the plastic inserts that save having to lap the rings which is a plus - just be careful slipping the inserts over the scope tube as they break fairly easily. Also you can chuck away the pin that resides in the rear mount (doesn't accomplish anything because of the tapered grooves on the Sako action) and slide the rear mount forward a little if necessary.

FFS if the difference in weight between Optilocks and another brand that’ll fit the Sako tapered dovetails is a deal breaker you’re in the wrong game.

I guarantee very few people who chuck ( mount) a scope in rings without self aligning inserts go to the trouble of lapping the rings.

The plastic insert is one of the best features of Optilocks, a little bit of care and they slip on and off easy-peasey.

There’s always plenty for sale here or trade me.

I’ve seen your picture of the Tikka jobbies in the FS section.

There’s no need to get rings and bases, just get the one piece ringmounts. They only come in one height, but will accommodate at least a 52mm objective on a Sako 85..... my lad has a Z5 in the one piece rings on his 300 WSM.

    Ummmm https://www.eurooptic.com/sako-optil...-s1701900.aspx

$USD112.75 plus post from Eurooptic...dunno where you get $800 from, unless you’re looking at a Sako TRG mount, if that’s case you’re way off course

My mistake. Thought you meant one piece including base. On another planet today! Cheers
