Now I recall what my deal with him was . . . . He advertised a used barrel in 6.5 on some firearms site that seems to have gone. I enquired and was assured that it was not chambered in a magnum caliber or 6.5x284 (as I wanted to use it for a 6.5-06 and it was already shortish). Anyhow it arrived and wouldn't you know, it was chambered in 6.5 Rem Mag. I tried to get him to take it back but with the same results as above, avoided me and made excuses.
Anyhow I did have the last laugh because I eventually traded it to Nor-west, and he had it re-chambered in 264 Win mag, and it shot really really well.
At least you got a result you were happy with in the end TM. Looks like he hasn't changed at all though. I'm still dumbfounded and am shaking my head on why someone would go this far to harm their reputation (does he even have one?) over a small amount of $$. I'm not asking for much.O well, I've just lodged and paid for the disputes tribunal to go ahead so time again will tell how it ends. I see some people are getting a little over this now - and fair enough. Like any good news story - it's time to move on and let whatever happens from here out happen.
Thanks all,
Grant
So being a painter you have a swinging stage for those bigger outside jobs??
Agree with others, i worked at a gun selling establishment and we never had one, nor did i need to use nor did customers ask to see down the bore, guess if you are a bit special or need it for serious shooting then you would own one, bit like a swinging stage??
On a brighter note i hope this gets settled

Swinging stage sounds like something Elton John would use.
I either own, hire, purchase or borrow whatever tools and equipment I need to do the job at hand.

That is kind of my point in this case though Hamish. The guy is in the trade , but simply put a borescope in the too hard basket on this occasion. As the potential buyer had asked specific questions, one would expect the seller to go out of his way to make sure he gave the right answers.
Heaps of work up here on the sunny Coromandel mate....I am just choosing not to do much of it right now.

I couldn't even if I wanted to mate. No citizenship yet.

how's my project, been a fair bit of interest apparently
"ars longa, vita brevis"
While you should always trust the seller, maybe a gunsmith of your choice would have been better??
Hope it gets sorted
