I know that they had issues in the past but by now I'd say most of their made "in house" products would be pretty good, the only Hardy barrel I even had shot very well.

The cardon stocked Sako 90 I'm looking at is around that price with a standard steel barrel & no case or can, While I like Sako's I think they've priced themselves outta the market & their stock levels at NZ HQ is pathetic, who wants to wait months for a factory rifle in the very limited calibers they even make in the new 90 model.
Yeah to be fair when you compare it with Sako I guess....tho I would never call a Sako good value either and I like my Sakos.
I call good value Howa and Bergara...ten years ago I would have put Tikka at the top of the "good value" list but not now.

Can’t speak for the project x but the hybrid I got a few months back is farking mint, absolutely would recommended if you’re wanting to spend that sort of coin. Can’t say I’ve had any of the rifle or service issues @Kelton is speaking of, service has been outstanding. I know they test fire everything before it leaves the shop these days so not sure how those issues have come about. Interested to here the full story though!

Yep tikka are the best if you’re happy with one calibre to cover all or don’t want flash scopes on multiple rifles.
I had 4 rifles all with flash scopes, suppressors and other bits. Sold all of that and bought a hybrid with two barrels to replace the rifles I actually used, kept the flashiest scope and was left with cash in the hand to buy other toys. And now when I want another calibre it will cost me roughly the same as a tikka and I’ve already got the flash scope, suppressor and other bits to go on it..
