Was thinking of seeing how much I'd get for an old 308 rifle out of curiosity.

So when I buy its replacement brand new I'd know how much I could get off the sticker price.

Just buy a bigger safe and keep the old one as a spare.

sometimes the trade in price depends on the price of the rifle your trading it on you could try it on here as well even if it doesn't sell youll get an idea of what you might get for a trade in or swap

I thought about that. Its not a bad idea. Its a good accurate rifle. Just a tad heavy.

That's a good few points. More expensive then they're willing to sweeten the deal.

They will want to make 25-50% on it and can only sell it for what it’s worth
So they will offer 50% possibly less of what it’s worth on the market ie trademe

Thanks for the advice. How bad was the shafting?

I lost a magazine right before a hunting trip (belonged to a Tikka LSA M55 .243). I was dead broke and desperate to go bush. So I traded in a virtually brand new marlin semi-auto .22lr for a replacement mag. They basically did a straight swap. Mag cost $120-130 from memory. They probably sold the rifle for $450.00.

I felt raped when I walked out, but I was glad I had my centrefire up and running.

As others have said, you're not gonna win by trading anything in. If you haven't got much to lose on the rifle on the other hand, and the dealer has something else you're after, then that may be another story.

Isn't it possible to single feed it?

    That is rape and pillage.

We shall see. I am not holding out hope

Better challenge him to a black powder revolver duel.

I could have single fed it...there are many things I could have done (better) on that miserable day. Lol
