Anyone have duracoat on their firearm?

    Hi Team
Just curious if anyone has a firearm that is coated in duracoat and how they like it?? does it hold up to knocks and scrapes from general hunting etc??? i have a friend that is setting up a painting business in hawkes bay and would like to know what people think of it. if its any good ie feedback from people that have it. i was going to let him loose on my old sporterized 96 mauser instead of rebluing it for him to test run. He used to paint the america's cup yachts before he moved back home and has a good eye for detail.
any thought would be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers

    Yes, it's been good.

It's okay at best. Ceracote is a MUCH better product.

Its a good finish, if professionally applied it will last but it will scratch/chip a bit after a bit of use. Cant compare it to cerakote as i havent used it but pretty sure cerakote is better

On my bush rifle it has flaked off in two places. I imagine this may be due to poor prep prior to coating though. Doesn't seem to scratch as much as I thought it would though and shows no real signs of wear from carrying. Definitely more 'agricultural' than a decent rebluing job.
