Anyone know who this trader is in Whakatane?

    GnG Trading?

Selling Nikon scopes. I've heard good things about the monarchs. Anybody had any experience with them? Is this a good price?

Been considering the 4-16x42 Monarch 3 (The one in the listing is the x50 version) for a while. The x42 IIRC sells for around $750 in main stream shops so the price for the listed one looks good given it will be dearer than the one I am looking at. The scope I looked at is made in the Philippines. Nikon scopes have a good rep even their lower order models. The trader has collected a few negative feedbacks but relative to his overall sales volume probably not too bad. I would be asking for a few more details about NZ warranty cover mentioned.

Yeah, I'd say he imports them and the warranty is only as good as he is, and only around while he is. I'm keen to get a hold of his contact details to go have a look at them.

Any ideas what the SF M NP, or SF M BDC means and is MR31 the model or reticle?

If you google Nikon MR31 you seem to get to Nikon's site and the scope, but if you search for MR31 once in Nikon's site it comes back zero found.

I notice Lacklands the NZ agents for Nikon use MR31 in their description.

Cheers for that. I don't like either of those reticles Nikoplex or bullet drop compensator. I'm guessing they are second focal plane as well. Inch tube, MOA..... They are starting to look a lot less appealing now.

    Depends on the useage.

Not really dialling scopes unless you get the dialling turrets... But I do like the bdc reticle for hunting but I do find it a little thick.
Glass is excellent for the money.
