    Backlanz vs spartan

Hey guys, pretty close to the same price range,

But am looking at purchasing a backlanz carbon or a spartan pro hunt bipod.

Anyone had to two and can comment ?

Or any pros and cons on either or ?

    Thanks
    Lars

Already have a spartan javelin coming, so maybe beneficial to share so I have the same mounts etc?

Mate had a carbon spartan and didn’t like it. He now has the backlanz carbon and thinks it is much better. Easy clip on/off, can load and pivot and also can remain on the rifle with the legs folded forward like a standard bipod where as the spartan couldn’t.

Haven't had a backlanz but that big stupid thing you need to attach to your rifle for the bipod to clip on and off doesn't really get me excited, may as well just have a small rail on there which would be less obtrusive and run an atlas or similar. Have had spartan, worked good as, I just prefer to shoot off a pack

The only thing I didn't like about the backlanz is that there is quite a bit of play between the mount and the bipod. I do like that you can adjust the angle of the feet.
I have a javelin and safe to say I won't be changing, for the javelin to be really good you need the flush cup bedded into your fore the adapters are shit and will move if loaded up no matter what you do, I've done several now as a result of buying and selling a few rifles but if your not confident doing it yourself or paying someone to do it then the backlanz is a better (more stable but clunky) adapter.

I’m a Spartan fan. The flush in stock mount looks like this....

Big fan of that. Just drill out the existing swivel stud to the right size and epoxy the flush mount into place? Sounds easy as.

I brought a spartan pro hunt.

The play in the Backlanz is on purpose its to allow recoil travel in a straight line from preolading to stop feet jumping. Didn't like my javelin but its wasn't a flush cup. Backlanz is much nicer and is kiwi made. It's effectively a carbon titanium atlas.

Well I am very happy with my backlanz bipod, I must admit at first is was abit put off by the look of the mounting bracket, though about maybe getting in cerakoted in black. But not an issue when over your shoulder very comfortable, easy to attach and detach. Strong and well built worth the $

Yep the spartan isnt all that stable. The Backlandz looks awesome...esp in carbon although not cheap. Is the non carbon bipod just a Harris with their QD fitted or still all their design?

I got a spartan pro hunt, and seems very stable so far. Also have a older spartan mk1 which seems like it has a bit of movement... but still does its job.
