Well it's non mil-spec steel, possibly inferior. Have to install + stake the gas key yourself. No experience but I personally wouldn't buy one.
SKD 61 is meant to be equivalent or better than carpenter 158, these are made in Taiwan and apparently what CMMG use. I have one of the chrome bolts in my parts bin. I can't verify the above, it's just "what I've heard"
I had a quick google to try find the info on SKD61 and didn't get anywhere.
Ok cheers guys.
These ar's are going to become an expensive hobby....

Seems ok Tabel Ukuran, Berat & Spesifikasi Besi&Baja: SKD61 Steel And Equivalent
How does it compare to C158 or 9310 as they're the standards for bolts/BCGs
Has about 5%cr vs 1.5%cr in 9310. Thats the main difference I can see
difference would be in hardness/tensile strength/yield strength somewhere maybe? or the preceding at higher temps
I have one of these in the parts bin as a spare. These are the same BCG's that CMMG use in their rifles. Overall, they look nicely machined, and for that price it includes the bolt too, which is pretty sharp by NZ standards.
Hard to go wrong really.
Cheers think I will get it
I know the person who imports these-let's just say he is very fussy about AR stuff and he runs these in his own rifles.
I will be visiting the factory they were made in (is only a couple of km from my apartment)in a couple of weeks, and the promo stuff they have provided me with speaks very highly of the steel they use-and the selection criteria used to chose it.
Remember that Taiwan is not mainland china
