Finally got my shit together and started this tonight.

Drilled out holes for pillars kindly supplyed by @shift14 and hogged out the cracks .

Devconed them in as a stage one.....this is just to locate the pillars inline with the action and once set I can remove the action(I hope ) then hog out clearances to bed the action in.

i guess if the action should "stick" you could always whittle the stock back off.
I reckon it will be ll good though

The main problem with bedding a 75 is bedding agent forcing arund the sides of the front magazine catch. Put a layer of plasticene down each vertical side of the front magazine catch.

Any vertical surface apart from the rear of the recoil lug should be taped, which is a bastard on a 75 because there are so many!

As @stug said, but even tape some of the horizontal surfaces as well. I double taped the bottom of the recoil lug, and the action around the magazine cutout. My only bedded horizontal surfaces are the pads/contact areas under the action screws, and the bottom metal.

I relieve taped the front of the recoil lug, and bedded the parallel portion of the knox forward of that.

Yea I was of course going to clearance all but the thrust face of the recoil lug and the outside vertical faces of the action but was in two minds what to do around the key like bit of the action fore and aft of the recoil lug.

After a measure up factory has plenty of clearance on the vertical faces of that key like bit so I guess I had better replicate that.

I never intended to fully bed it just the front and rear areas to tidy up the bedding after ripping out stock material.
