What about wipeout, that seams to be, the recommended go to bore cleaner, for copper and carbon, up here (Canada), can you get it in NZ?
Long time ago I had some Wipeout and since then have continued to use bore foam for cleaning. Haven't seen any Wipeout since in NZ.
In tests, Wipeout was the best of the bore foams. They also market an accelerator for it, have you used that also @southernman ?
Another one I used, and I cannot remember the brand except it was made in Scandinavia somewhere. I looked up the associated website and found it was the same stuff used for cleaning large artillery pieces - they pumped it thru the barrel somehow.
Like I said I have used foam for years. When I get home from an outing the first thing I do is fill the barrel with foam. Then I unload the rest of the junk, have a coffee, then return to the gun cleaning. I use a very stiff nylon brush (IOSSO) several passes out of the muzzle, unscrew brush, pull rod back, brush thru again. I then blast the barrel out with Brakleen from the chamber end. Sometimes I put some Boretech Cu solvent in but very rarely do I see any signs after the foam clean. It seems to be just too good to be true, plus you are not scrubbing, scrubbing, scrubbing the shitter out of the barrel. Have also found that 1st shot performance is not way out of group.

DONT BE A FOOL INDENTIFY YOUR TARGET BEFORE YOU PULL
I've put about 400 rounds through my .243 Tikka T3, I've only cleaned it 4 times or so. I must have done a good job on the few times I've done it. I put electrical tape on the end of the barrel turned it upside down, filled the barrel with foaming barrel cleaner and left it for two hours. First patch through was light blue and grey/black. Second patch was carbon/powder fouled only. Third patch was clean as a whistle. I'll spray it in again and leave overnight but don't think much will come out. Are these Tikka barrels inherently clean running?
Sorry to dig up an old post. But trying to get some of this in Auckland. Anyone seen any in shops? Searched websites but no luck.
The shops can get it from sportsways

Thanks for the replies. Don't have time to wait for them to get it in. Will check out that other stuff suggested. Cheers
