Shoot in a Swanny not a T shirt will help.
Free new 30 cal 1:10" barrels for a starter
Piles of new old stock 308 ammo
All the tooling, dies, brass and bullets also

Have 6.5mm covered with a light accurate single shot already.

    So trying a different route

It's not about being recoil sensitive

It was purely because I rarely do anything modern and I'm out of the loop on what the go to butt pads are currently

Really it's what can go on a light 16" 308 and still be able to spot shots at range when shooting off a bipod
Maybe that isn't practical with a 308 anyway

So if its shot spotting you need then perhaps stock and rifle geometry could help.
Eg a high butt plate so your should contacts mostly direct in line with the barrel, adjustable perhaps ?
Heavy scope above the bore line to balance stock and bipod below it.
I thought brakes were the business for spotting shots ? Could just a small one counter rifle twist and jump rather than recoil ?
PRS shooters do have real heavy rifles but they are the masters of seeing through recoil - might have some tips.

Lead shot pad strapped to the butt - sounds funny but it does work (some shooting jackets used to have this, just increasing the mass the rifle has to move to thump you). Won't help muzzle flip, light rifles are bad for this especially if they have a bore line that's quite above the line of the butt.

    Mercury recoil reducer?
You'd have to import one, no doubt

Or a PAST strap on recoil pad

I’ve got a silicone “limb saver” fits like a shoulder holster, if you want it. Don’t have to mess up your butt end

I've got those slips on's already

This butt pad will be going on a thin alloy plate skeleton stock
So it will be bolted on to pretty well nothing

And I won't be adding weight or recoil reducers.

This straps onto you, I used it with the 45/70, rifle is untouched, mine all have steel butt plates.

I really think Limbsavers are bloody effective. I banged off 20 rounds from my lightweight 300wsm, shooting reasonably heavy pills prone the other day and had zero discomfort in shoulder the days after.

Same result here shooting 180 gners out of a lightweight 7mm limbsaver tames the recoil very well
