I'm with you on that one gimp, I prefer the detachable mag as well. The 60 series tends to just edge out the 795 series on accuracy and the 60DLX has that touch of class to it with the gold and timber work. I went for the 795.

No opinions on the linked volquartsen then?

There spec on tolerances materials etc is impressive in that noone else advertises theirs.

I grew up with tubes on pump and lever .22 s . I use a drop mag in the HMR and dont find any real world advantage, generally I miss the tubes extra capacity.

I think it's heinously ugly and overpriced and the interrupted fluting is gimmicky

Same re: lever guns. I infinitely prefer detach mags now simply because I can carry multiple loaded ones instead of fumbling around with a box of ammo trying to top up a tube all the time.

    At least its an opinion:thumbup:

Looks to be the most designed around accuracy/longevity hunting style semi i can find. As for the style well that's up to him but i quite like it as well.

I think the 3rd one looks the nicest, more sporting style laminate than target stock.

Thumb hole is out unless it can be got in a left hand.,also i have found them less fluid to mount and fire off hand than traditional styles.

What sort of accuracy are you after? The Marlin, Rugers, etc seem to be reliable hunters and last fairly well. The Marlin certainly has the accuracy. You could always slap the marlin into a Boyds stock, either 60 or 795 series.

Yes with any sort of volume maybe, we never seem to be in a hurry and there always time to top up from a pouch . I prefer loading a tube to mags. Just stuck in my ways probably. Had thought about speed loaders but never got motivated enough to get/build one

Well good I spos I cant find it now but somewhere on there sight it guaranteed 50m 5 shot groups of 0.35" or less with match ammo.

Consistent half inch at 50m would be very nice with hunting ammo, not sure if that is unrealistic or not but in my experience with 10/22s they are never going to even get close!

This bodes well tho and all s/s(another plus)

If money is no object then go for it. Thats pretty accurate. I love the beauty of having a rimfire that can just be thrown in the back of the car/ute and not having to worry about it being too precious.

Could buy both and sell the one he doesn't like as much?
