I still wouldn't mind having a set of decent range - binos ( Lecia, Zeiss or swaro ) but I'd still keep my other units, horses for courses just comes down to how much coin you can / want to spend aye
Shoot it, root it & then BBQ it !!!

If comparing like for like e.g Leica 10x42 trinovid plus Leica rangefinder they will be heavier than the 10x42 geovid.

I reckon it won't be far away until a 8x30 lightweight ranging set of binoculars comes out from either swarovski or Leica

    Yeah cool story
I was just saying some setups are lighter when you made this statement

"bino and rangefinder same weight as all in 1 unit,"

He was obviously making that assertion based on relativity (10x42 stand-alone set up vs 10x42 combo) in which case the combined unit does actually come out a tad lighter (not that 2 ounces means much in the real world).

Anyway. I digress. 8x30s are for weak little boys with tiny hands. Real men use 10x42's...

    Muahahahahahaha!!! Haha!! Muaha!! Muahahaha... (etc).

I would also point out with separate units if you break your rangefinder (more likely given its electronic) or it just goes all pooze you are not without your binos while its (the rangefinder) away being fixed ie you can still hunt

Think I will go with a bino/rf combo, makes things more simple and 1 less thing to carry..
Will have to check out some euro ones before making the decision to spend the extra $ over the bushnell, vortex etc ones...

    cheers

I have a pair of the Vortex Fury's and really love them. Just so much more handy having everything in one unit.

Like others Iv got the 8x30 swaro and leica RF. Had the binos for many years, on my second leica RF now . Some of the shooting we do I wont take binos so its handy to be able to take just the range finder.
    Just a slopy retrobate
