For those that prefer the versa over the harris why is this? I have both (genuine non knock-off versa) and aside from the ease of slotting it on and off the rifle I prefer the harris its more fiddly to fit to the rifle but a bit lighter. However I know lots of people prefer the versa and I'm interested to know why?

Better to lean into, handles terrain that isn't "a bench" better, has some panning capability etc. None of them are perfect. I would never use the stupid lump mount for a versapod or the full steel versapod. The simpler lighter models are only a little heavier than Harris.

So I bought a Remington one, the retail was around $100 but I think there was a cheaper Remington one as well. Has been good to use, fired about 200 rods so far and still as it was when I bought it. Not sure it would handle a large caliber rifle but for my 22 and hmr its all good

    Sent from my work bench
If i could have a full time job shooting pests i'm up for over time.

I have the buffalo river (nikko sterling) swivel bi pod I like it and is fairly solid compared to the remington bipod even though it is not a harris it has stood up to being on the 270

Got an atlas. Has everything a harris has plus more and probably end up cheaper by the time you pimpnout the harris. Also has a quick release not like harris where you got to mess around a bit to put it on

There are atlas copies on Trademe.
Tried one, but didn't like the atlas style. there was nothing wrong with the build quality.
