If there's a concern about losing springs, do your disassembly inside a large plastic bag.
AR15 takedown pin detent springs are the worst, I keep a spare just in case. Be careful removing those stocks!

its a bugger when you get gear back and its had abuse.
my dad lent my 22 mag to my brother while I was away at university, came back to a rusty mess
I do enjoy a take down clean. Rifles stocks get left on, I need that first shot to go where it is suppost to and unless I can check it, I leave the stock on
Yeah agree, very therapeutic, love the way the semi's 'click & slide' together when assembling, the Mossy 500 shottie can be a bitch if not done precisely.....
While I might not be as good as I once was, Im as good once as I ever was!
Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
Ha! Love it. Have known a couple of girls ask what aftershave i was wearing. They never know what to say when you tell them none... it's just from cleaning the guns.Could be interesting in the next couple of years as the gadgettes start dating, getting all dolled up. Wouldn't mind betting when it comes time for the makeup and stuff that the cologne they reach for will be ode de gunsafe.
Yeah, been on a bit of a TLC kick myself last few weeks. My dad's old Mod2 BRNO got stripped down, put a trigger kit in, stripped the stock and re-oiled and stripped the bolt to fit a new bolt spring.
Wow. I don't think that bolt had ever been apart. Poured out about 2 heaped tablespoons worth of rust and dirt... looked like old dried up coffee grinds. Bleugh.
So smooth now! Can't believe hadn't done it before.
