Nice one @Dreamer! Have you knocked over any critters with it yet? What sort of loads are you running in it?
@Gkp - are you planning to reload for whatever you end up with? I'm with @stug that it just seems right to have a break open style single shot chambered for a rimmed cartridge. The 7*57R seems just about spot on.
PS More pictures please Dreamer!
Beautiful bit of wood there @Dreamer
@Steelisreal haven’t knocked anything over yet with it only taken it for the one walk so far been too busy working extra day/nights. I’m running 140sst 2720fps Will try get a few better photos next time

The only problem I see with a thumbhole stock is you’d need to reposition your hand out to break it open?
Shut up, get out & start pushing!
The extractor for a rimmed cartridge is like a shotgun. A pretty bombproof steel extractor sits under the rim. Breaking open the barrel lifts the case by the rim about 5mm to one cm. A non-rimmed case has a spring-loaded dohicky that snaps into the Ed tractor groove on the case. I haven’t heard of one failing though.
I wouldn’t worry too much about having to move your hand to open the barrel when using the thumb hole stock. Ovini expeditions on Goutube has several videos using the thumb hole K95. I’ve shot 7 animals with my k95, only one needed two shots.
Personally though I think the carbon thumb hole stock is an abomination on the K95.
I'm not anti single shot at all. I love them in fact if I could afford a k95 I would own one. I used a Bergara 308 as my main rifle for 2 years down south it took a few Cham and reds.
I guess it's a weird range of compromises for such an expensive rifle. along the lines of the Stug its a rifle that is classical and traditional and the carbon stock takes that away. It feels almost tacky to do that to such a nice rifle. Idk it's a bit of a personal thing but if buying one mine would be nice timber. Just my opinion obviously.
