Fingers crossed the new .222 is a 1:12 twist. (Supposedly the 2024 barrel is. 1:12)

My 6.5 x 55 is chopped to 19.5” which is as short as you can go for the suppressor clearance of the barrel band , I would like a 7 x 57r as a second barrel just to have a rimmed case , the suppressor makes it pleasant to shoot even if it destroys the aesthetics.

A 15” 308 barrel is hard to beat in the trees.

If options were unlimited I’d like to own a 18” stainless barrel with suppressor in 6 creed with a 1-7.5 twist barrel for the 108 eldm. It would be pleasant to shoot for anyone behind the butt but still highly capable in most hunting circumstances.

No you need too get with the program and start using rimmed cartridges

A 6.5x57R with a fast twist would be better

I would have liked to have got a rimmed .22 cal but the options don’t make sense in NZ. Limited to no brass or projectile options.

If they did a fast twist 220 swift you would be all good

Well I have a 225 Winchester chamber reamer
I personally think it's the pick of the fast 224 rimmed cases because the parent case is 30-30 and brass will always be available

Well, I've been selling down a few rifles, getting ready, to move back to NZ, Mid 2025.
Moving over to K95 and R8,
I've now got two K95 Blasers, a Lux and a std, 7x65R and 6.5 Creed,
Spare barrels, .22 Hornet, 5.6x50R and .243. I am glad i bought, before the big price gains,
Love the Little K95, great we stalking rifle,
The 22 Hornet, is by far the best barrel purchases, In all of these, big plus to the 5.6x50R, but wish it was faster twist. (1-12)
Pretty under whelmed with the .243 and 6.5, they shoot ok, but. prefer the rimmed cartridges.
I am looking for a used barrel, to try and get a blank made up,
My thoughts here are a fast twist .22 cal,
I have my eye on a K95, 9.3x74 barrel, mostly because its cheap,
Just applied for Import permits, with NZ police,

And 220 Swift like the 307 is only semi rimmed and do require a very well fitted extractor

That's fine with a K95 because the extractor is parallel to the bore

Not so good for actions where the extractor pivots

The beauty of the 308 is the available ammo, efficiencies in a short barrel and subsonic loads. These goats fell to subs while I was crossing a valley to get to a stag. I let the stag live, possibly the worst animal I’ve ever stalked.Name: C7E2C96A-B716-4EAF-8193-FB69F03E275B.jpeg

TT, that's a nice set up, compact etc., I am going to get a couple my barrels threaded/ chopped and suppressed, once back in NZ, I kind of wished, i had ordered a .308 instead of a .243, they are at least $1200 more a std barrel now. almost 3g, here in Canada, Hate to think what NZ costs are.

Years ago one of the local sports store had an octangle barrel .257 Wby, for $2600, I waited to long, wished I had bought it.
I would like a octangle barrel, but the $2500 surcharge makes for a bitter Pill,
I would love to get a barrel in a fast and flat cal, .257 wby, 7 RM , or .264 win, looked hard in the past, but find full power 7x65R loads have plenty of recoil.

Perhaps we should have a K95 get together, one day, seams there is a few fans, of this little rifle,
