Neat light weight rig... just waiting on one of those Neopod bipods to complete the light weight blaser package. Might invest in a carbon wrapped barrel in the future.
Just curious, what does it weigh without bipod? The R93, that is.

Mine as I hunt with it. Depending on country I have a bipod and Swaro 3-18 in my backpack. Swaro is not much heavier than the Loopy.
    Carbon fibre stock to come.

My R93 loaded, slung, bipod, suppressor feels like it weighs the same as his R8 without all that shit on!

Ironically he's looking at carbon stock options now for the R8. I prefer the R8 detachable magazine......but the weight I can't live with unless armchair hunting.

Sounds like some people need to lift some weights for a while
Some days it's like no one here remembers how much an average rifle used to weigh.

You'll be able to carry the backstraps and eye fillets now that you have a r93 BRADS!

    DISCLAIMER: I don't own a Blaser

R93 lighter, R8 stronger action can handle mag calibres heavy and the trigger comes out with the mag, so if you forget the mag you also forget the trigger.
    Identified Fault - User Error.

I don't think you could forget a great deal if you had the nice box also, just as likely to forget the scope or barrel. I think what would be worse is taking the wrong barrel and the wrong ammo.
    Identified Fault - User Error.

Can you change the Scopes between the barrels with out losing zero?
    I would guess not.

The notches on the barrel which mate with the scope mount are probably slightly different on each barrel (Repeatability in machining can only be so accurate). So whilst you may be able to un-mount and remount a scope from the same barrel and maintain POI/POA, its likely that changing to another barrel witl change POI/POA due to machining.

Which is why I asked as to the point of the quick release scopes attached to barrels
Same as every other set of quick release optics - so you can have multiple optics set up for one barrel. R93 is a good example of this, using a cheaper scope or a red dot for closer range shooting and putting a larger scope on for long range.

So how heavy are these R8 compared with the R93?
    R93 Pro Stock, 300 WM: 3.1 kg // 6.8 lbs

    R8 Pro Stock, 300 WM: 3.5 kg // 7.7 lbs
