Who's or what make is that stock Kokako?

Barrels are easily made significantly lighter by carbon wrapping. I have 2 300 gram scopes. Aftermarket saddle mounts. And no I am not getting a Christensen stock.
There are others or very soon will be at half the price of a christensen

    R93,
The alternative stock your referring to is a "senator" item I assume. I discovered this myself after I received my Christensen stock Oh my shit happens & the stock is very, very nice. How much weight did you save by going carbon wrapped barrel? Like you I think the R8 is over weight so built a R93 with carbon stock, fluted barrel, 2.5-25 march scope & aftermarket scope mount. I might look at adding some carbon wrapped barrel's if the weight saving is worthwhile.

So like every other gun nut (most of us here !!) reading this , you spend shit loads to buy one then spend shit loads modifying it so its lighter ?

Carbon fibre this, aftermarket that .. Ha ha that's half the fun though for real !!!

I figured they would have to be perfect in every way from the factory Not the case obviously .. , Not much changes eh ... Just the $$$$

Out of the box they are what I'd regard as a near perfect everyday hunting rifle. However a bit heavy in my opinion for Alpine hunting - the stock saves considerable weight for this type of hunting.

I wouldn't want my R93 any lighter , it already rattles my mojo when I'm using the 7mm Mag barrel .
I found the easiest weight reduction was scope and mounts .
With my 7mm barrel I've got a reasonably heavy Zeiss scope mounted as low as the scope eyepiece will allow .
With my 223 barrel I tried a couple of different scopes Zeiss and Meopta but in the end Imounted an old Leupold 6 power scope . I've had it for a while and it is a fantastically tough scope that weighs practically nothing and has survived the rough and tumble of bouncing in a ute better than any other .
I mounted it on a picatinny rail mount with old fashioned weaver low rings to get it as low as I could .
I got it so low that it only just clears the safety - cocking button with room for a couple cigarette papers to spare .

I wish I'd discovered Blaser years ago .

using Google I found an alternative to Christensen.

Search for "evil empire" Carbon Stock, it should throw up a thread on SnipersHide, a Russian dude doing them, and some for Tikkas....they look nice, dunno about price or availability.

Has anyone seen one of Jasons Blaser stocks yet? Do they currently exist? I'm interested if so, I just hope it retains the Blaser form 100% as I cannot think of a nicer stock design.

I haven't seen one but discussed with Jason. You will need to butcher an existing stock to supply a bedding block so all of a sudden a $3K Christensen stock isn't really that expensive
