I can’t remember the weight it took off my tikka bolt, but grams make KGs... if it’s a light weight build every bit adds up. And yeah looks good too...
Yeah, I weighed it before and after and like @Seventenths mentioned - it was around the 80-90g mark.

    Looks cool. End of story.

I suppose unless you are lightening everything - Carbon stock 130 - 200+ grams lighter depending on model, barrel fluting is 150 - 200grams lighter and then you flute the bolt at 80 - 90 grams you're potentially almost at a half kilogram lighter. I am considering fluting the bolt and barrel on a bush rifle I am doing with a carbon stock.

What's that old saying, ounces become pounds?

@dannyb your one must be a real deep flute. I took my Bergara bolt apart and saw it's not that thick of wall to flute. I might consider a lighter flute to preserve the strength of the bolt a bit.

Realistically the strength of the bolt is needed between the bolt face and the back of the locking lugs.....the rest of it is just there to put a handle on and house the spring and pin.

I have to say it does make the rifle look much hotter. Performance wise, the original finish is smoother. After the fluting done, I can feel a little bit of grinding noise as I ram the bolt down the throat. Not enough to make a difference in operations but you can notice it. The ejection of bolt is smooth as . It's just going in has a very slight grind as the fluting goes into the action.

I am sure a delicate touch with a grinder would fix it...or send it back

Even if only the bolt it would have been a prior problem as they would be taking metal off not adding it on.

Good point, maybe give the bolt and chamber a good clean and try again

Sounds like a sharp edge to me, and less bearing surface grinding paste will probably just make it fit sloppy.
Removing more material should be done very carefully from this point on
