    Box trigger for 10/22.?

Anyone tried one of these, thinking of getting one but can’t try one out first as they need to be pre ordered apparently, how much better are they than standard?for $200 they seem a good buy compared to Kidd or Volquartson,I only hunt not target shoot. Thanks

I have not tried a Kidd but definitely dig deep and buy a volquartson. It is light years ahead of the BX trigger - the BX I had although not bad was barely better than a stoned and tidied up factory trigger - and still had some creep and was overall a bit ‘doughy’.

I’ve got both Volquartson and two stage Kidd triggers . Both superb triggers in my opinion.

You get what you pay for. I’m happy with BX at the price. Easy to overcapitalise, depends what level you’re aiming at and what your budget is. If you’re up in Auckland check mine out I’ve got them in both my 10/22s.

The trigger in it now has been worked on by previous owner, pretty light but a lot of creep before take up,kind of like a 2 stage set up.

I have a BX trigger in mine - you can get them from Ken at 556 for about $159 - light years better than the factory trigger. If it's a hunting / small game rifle its the best bang for buck. If you are looking at a serious target rifle then look at a Kidd set up

My mate loved is until he tried my kidd then he didn’t

Kidd is leaps and bounds above the rest
They are expensive but worth every dollar

If you don’t want to drop cash on a complete trigger
Get a trigger kit and upgrade your factory trigger there’s a few options

All of them will be a massive improvement on the factory ruger trigger
Plenty good enough for a bunny gun

If you’re going to buy a complete aftermarket unit
For 250-300 you May aswell spend 400 and get a kidd single stage

There are two ways to look at this, to be fair. I agree that standard factory 10/22 is not a great gun. I just shot one last weekend.

On the other hand, 10/22 is a rugged, tested and true rifle. There are good reasons why it is one of the most popular semi-auto 22 on the market. CZ, Norinco, Anschutz, Savage and Remington are all big names that make or made 22 semis, yet none can compete with 10/22 in popularity. 10/22's only real competition is Marlin.

80% of the problem with the factory 10/22 is with the rough 9-pound-pull factory trigger, 20% is with the all-ammo-tolerating factory barrel. Once you fix these two and get decent accuracy from it, the 10/22 is quite a good gun - reliable cycling, easy maintenance, flush 10/shot mag, etc.

The biggest advantage with 10/22s, as far as I am concerned, is the availability of the KIDD two-stage trigger. I have two-stage triggers on an Anschutz 54, a Savage bolt action and an Air Arms TX 200 air-rifle (of of the best trigger on air rifles). The KIDD trigger is only slightly behind the Anschutz and a lot better than all others (including all my single stage triggers). I have also shot Walter G22, Anschutz MSR RX22, Sako Quard, and a few 22LR AR-15 from different makes. Needless to say the KIDD two-stage is heads and shoulders above them all.

Basically, if you want a semi-auto with a trigger this good, you have no other choice but to buy the Ruger 10/22 or its clone and buy the KIDD two-stage trigger.

I’ll gladly put my 10/22 up against any factory 22 and ether win or draw
I do agree if we are talking the $500 bog standard one though

No problem with how it shoots now I bedded the barrel and removed the barrel band, accurate as my expensive.22.
