Just made my order now, need some bipod mounts and shit. Should go get a permit for some mags. How many mags were you granted in your permit? I don't want to ask for too many or too little....

    I ask, for 4 mags in each flavor, 4 AR20s 4 AR30s, 4ak 30s etc, never had an issue
and specify which gun they are for, seams to be there latest buzz, which gun there for.

i usually make a cart that works out to be $100 usd, and then get a permit for its contents,
and buy when i have said permit

I always send an email to the AO at NZ Customs - Auckland Airport when it ships and send permit (if required) in the post then.
Saves time and the AO is a good guy.

I'm guessing the permit process doesn't get around restricted export items? I just went through the process of getting a Proctor sling sent to my friend in colorado and he unpacked it, labelled it as a strap and mailed it to me....

Think I could get AK mags for my C endorsement even though I don't have an AK yet?

Also are there export costs for magazines?

Think I just clicked from what Gly said and remembered the export comes in after $100USD.

With Brownells as soon as it goes over US$100 it attracts a US$250 state department fee.

You would think a permit approved by the police would be enough evidence that you have one and are approved to import.

More red tape for the law abiding citizen😆

Would be keen to see if they issue a permit for 50 mags on a C cat rifle. Or even an e cat.

Keen to hear the outcome of that.
