    Browning X Bolt trigger

    Good morning gents
Bought and X Bolt .308 recently from Gun City Hawkes Bay, brought it home with me to Christchurch, and put about 5 shots through it sighting it in, perfect. Went to get it out of safe, and checked it over as im, away for the weekend hunting and it wont load........ cant pull trigger, nothing happens........bolt doesnt appear to engage the firing pin........ seems the trigger is as far back as it can go, no tension on it, and as i said the bolt does not appear to grab and tension the firing pin. I checked the adjuster for trigger and it seems to be wound out quite a bit, still has that red crap covering it suggesting it has not been adjusted, but youtube videos show it wound in alot more..........Any ideas please?
    Cheers in advance
    Shane

I would personally take it to gc in Chch and get them to look at it. From description it sounds like the sear is not making contact with the bolt. Has something come loose in the trigger or something foreign holding thesear down

Doesn't appear to be any obstructions, and the trigger is right back, with no spring feeling to it. Cheers though

Yeah, don't dick with it, or try any of the mechanical solutions that will be forthcoming on the forum. Take it as already suggested to the mothership in CH CH.

Napier is a full branch of GC not a franchise so you should get an appropriate response at GC CH CH.

Triggers issues need to be properly resolved.

I wouldn't let a GC "gunsmith" anywhere near the thing, take it back and demand a swap for another one

They ain't all dodgy. I believe gundoc was one of their go-tos back in the day and a friend at the gun club has done some work for them and I would get him to do work for me.
But I am picking up what you are putting down.

Hey mate. I was the fella that worked it out yesterday. It's dropping the firing pin as soon as you close the bolt. I think something to do with sear but I'm not a gunsmith so don't take my word as gospel. I let the repair manager know about it first thing this morning and they will have it looked at pretty quick!

Hey again mate. This looks like it's been done. Rifle is sitting in the sign-off area and looks good to me. I'll get our repair manager to go check it and get it signed off. Expect a text/phone call shortly when it's been done.
