In addition to my Marlin 795, the other .22 calibre rifle I own is a bolt-action Mossberg 802 Plinkster. It was cheap (think ~$250?) and is a good basic rifle - made in Brazil under licence.

ok the 527 is a different animal that is the new brno fox, which is the 223 lenght mini mauser action. nice rifles but I sold mine in favor of my ar.......GASP HORROR, I know.

the cz rifles are nice, if you can get one with a bit of checkering on it. I upgraded my stock and am pleased with the extra grip.

I cant see me ever parting with my brno mod 2, but I dont care for my ruger at all. even after I sorted out the trigger at nearly half the cost of the rifle again.
CZ on the other hand can be sorted with a spring and shim kit for 30$

the 452 I believe is the 22lr the 455 I think is the 22mag length that you can also get a 22lr barrel for.
Personally I dont see the point of switch barrel designs when youd have to resight in each time you changed over

I stick by my Marlin. @125m got 5inch group with rem subs in inconsistant wind so will try when no wind with Eley Match ammo. I spent nothing to get it good just snapped a pen and took its spring for the trigger

    +1 on the trigger fix.

Though I was getting a funny pattern with mine at 75m. 1st shot on the mark, the next shot down about 20mm, then the rest seemed to walk up on a 45 degree angle with the 7th shot ending up about 20mm to the right of the mark. It would repeat this pattern all night long. By the time I filled the mag and went to the next target I got the same pattern. One target I shot the pattern over three times and they pretty much went into the same holes. Was using the PMX subs I got from another forum member when I was starting out.

Its pretty shitty but here's the one from today, the group from the Eley was at 100m the rest at 125m, I fucked it up big time I decided to move the scope for the last shot for some reason which screwed it up, I will wait for a day with no wind and try again,

I take Federal out of that, it may be good close but seems to be bad at 125m, sorry about it being at 125m again and not 100y. done it just now since the wind I mean what wind

I was surprised by it tbh. I was excepting Feds to be the best and the Eleys a close second.

The Fed stuff is pretty inconsistent, some goes pop, some goes bang and some goes fizz. Mine prefers CCI or Fiocchi (sp?). Mudgripz was getting 0.5"-0.6" at 50m with my 795 and 0.4"-0.5" with his 60. I still prefer to shoot with the bolt action 980ss. I must say I'm a fan of the Marlin rimfires.

Me Neither, give me a Cz/Brno any day! But fair enough they are really good little rifles for the money.
