    Carbon fibre stock help

I recently purchased a second hand carbon fibre stock for my tikka 7mm rem mag.

It’s a southfort labs stock which from what I understand was sold under the name accutech by gun city.

Got a few questions for the guys out there with the experience.

It didn’t come with a recoil lug and it sounds like they weren’t sold with recoil lugs and that you are meant to remove the standard lug from the Old tikka stock and re use that.

Does this sound correct ? Are most new carbon fibre stocks sold without the recoil lug ?

The recoil lug in the standard tikka stock is firmly in there , is there a trick to removing it ?

Secondly should I be getting it bedded?

    Thanks fellas

Hi, yes you use the original recoil lug. It will pull out of the factory stock with pliers. Yes you should bed it.

try it without bedding and if its shoots constantly then probably want be needed, most of mine have been drop-in

Here is a link to the gunworks lug. I used one or these, good quality then you can leave your tikka stock alone in case you want to re use it or sell it
    https://www.gunworks.co.nz/shop/cate...tainless-steel.
To check the integrity of the bedding, put the action into the stock and torque both action screws. Then with the rifle resting vertical on its butt plate put your hand on the forend with a finger resting on the junction of the stock and the barrel, so your touching both of them with slight finger tension, them slacken the front screw slightly and do it back up several times, if there is tension in the action due to stressed bedding you will feel movement of the barrel with your finger. Do the same with the rear screw with you finger resting on the stock and the action tang. Its a little hard to describe so I hope this makes sense. If it passes this test then it will most likely shoot well as is.
