Howa stocks are at least three months away.
They don't have a allow bedding block or pillars. It has carbon pillars.
So the stock requires bedding which he charges $150 for.
    Stock is $995
Recoil pad is the same as the one on the tikka stock.
I required he can fit a extra stud for a bipod or a small rail section.

So will the howa mini stock be a smaller pattern than his other tikka and rem stocks? I hope so

Jeez I hope Kens new Howa Mini stock can accommodate the Sako L461 & A1 with a little work I asked him ages ago about one but the rear tang length was an issue on current model of stock.

Yeah if he gets this stock right, with suitably smaller/slimmer proportions and a decent weight reduction over the factory stock I reckon there will be a good sized market internationally.

We all know the high quality of his stocks.

A decent smaller pattern CF lighter stock will totally transform the Howa Mini.

When you say smaller pattern what do you mean exactly?
Shorter cheekpeice and forend or normal dimensions but slimmer and sexyer ?

Slim is only sexy if it's in the right places.

Foreend needs to be shorter, slimmer profile especially the foreend.

Think mod 7 or kimber Montana stocks

Shorter forend makes for trickier shooting off of a bipod or rest tho.

Not sure I have shouldered a mod 7 but they are basicly a youth stock no?
Kimbers I have shouldered have always felt too short in lop for me tho that may be due to the owners preference to set his scopes up more rearward than I do.

Model 7 is not a youth stock, still standard length of pull, just a slim trim stock.
Model 7 and CZ527 stocks make a nice fit for the Howa Mini. A Sako Vixen, A1 stock would be nice too.

For a light weight carry rifle that you will likely be holding in your hands rather than slung I love the slim slender stock of the model 7/kimber etc.

The shorter forend also just looks better with the shorter barrel. (Mod 7 standard cartridge is 20")

My howa mini is a 22 " 6.5G and the standard stock just looks too long in the foreend and hugely too wide and chunky.

At the end of the day we're talking about a mini action rifle. 223, 6.5G, 7.62×39 etc how far are we really going to be shooting them while hunting.

I've shot deer at 370 yards with my mini 6.5G but too be honest it's pushing it. 300 yards should really top that cartridge out. And 300 yards isn't that hard with any sort of rest etc so it's not an issue.

I don't have any issues shooting my model 7 7 SAUM out around 1000 yards with its short forend stock.

It's more about how it feels and handles and needs to look in proper proportion matching the rest of the smaller scaled down rifle.

Ken just emailed back to me and said it could be possible to fit the Sako A1 type action into the new design stock, but it's still at least 3 months away from starting.

    Yea fair points I guess.
I certainly agree with slimmer stock and forend.... maybe a touch shorter but not like that mpi mountain rifle stock that looks retarded.

I guess I am mostly after easy to shoot as its for my boys rifle.
223 so cheap to shoot and he can shoot it as far as he likes at rocks and steel and not wear out my rifle
