I've been wanting a carbon stock for my Sako and Tikka for a while. But I can reload a lot of ammo for the price of a new carbon stock. One day I will pick up cheaper second had one on the forums or Trademe.

It will certainly please the rich Jaffa or people who like the carbon look or pimping their piece, Each to their own of course.
But if you need a light weight rifle for hunting ,a factory model 7 or kimber is going to be hard to beat for the one or two shots it takes in order to kill a deer.
That was the reflexion I had a few years back when Greg Duley wrote his articles on pimping the ruger and 15 years ago when a mate of mine was raving about the Steyr scout.

I hope the CF bolt handle lasts longer than CF bolt body....

The Tikka action & bolt weighs roughly the same as a LA Remington... 2.5-3.0 kgs seems closer to the mark.

Hardy Carbon barrels are nice & light
camo wsm and BRADS like this.

Dans smithing is probably better than the smith that made that bolt body.......

    Fixed it.

Each to their own. It just doesn't spin my wheels but fine for anyone that does like it. If it was me I'd just spend the money on a better class of firearm rather than sinking more money in than a new one costs to personalise a budget firearm. You can buy a rice burner and pimp it out to look like a used Euro car, or you could spend the same money and buy a good used Merc AMG. I'm a tight arse, I'd still just buy a budget whatever and largely leave it at that. But I still admire a nice piece if kit.

he might have to reduce the price again... why would you pay US$750 for a Hardy Barrel whe you could buy a Bartlein for US$350?

To be fair, he is competing against the likes of proof research not bartlein.
