Buuut if I have to bite the bullet I would get a .270 but not in a zkk600 this time the last one beat me up due to it not fitting my shoulder like I was hoping it would.
makes perfect sence seeing as the lee enfields have such a comfy butt pads.

that will drop the kimber out aswell as they are made to be light.

I had a remington mountain rifle that I was going to rebarrel and ream to 280.
    went with the tikka instead
still got the 708 rem barrel blued. if you go that way and want a rem700
I keep looking at my 7x57 brno and 280 reamer thinking it could easily become 280, but I have no need for two bolt guns in 280

Yeah I am looking at going down the Remmy route not a great fan of the newer remingtons buuuut I guess I can make an exception. Was talking to the guy at one of the local shops and he said he could get me the XCR in 280 good part is I can order and pay with my Aussie debt plus and get them to hold it at the shop till I get home to pickup and present license.

They did, think it was the AV model.
Weatherby do a lightweight MK V in 280.
Remington had their XCR11 also, might be one or two still about.

IF Hamills Te Awamutu come through when I email them in Decemeber from aussie they will have a look then and give me a price but they did say the other day they could certainly get one in 280 in the remington 700 model and that I could pay with my flexi debt card from aussie and just show license on pick up when I get back one way to save money I guess pay out of my aussie account via the credit card system and then do the same with workshop innovations for a lyman reloading kit for $349AU or should I just wait till I get home for the kit and pay the guy in NZ dollars for that.

I may have found a .280 the shop is willing to hold onto it for me till I come home and pay then, it is secondhand but has only fired two shots the guy got it new and decided it kicked too hard (he had been using a 6.5x55 prior to the 280) so is trading it for something else, it is a remington 700 I get to have a look at it next week and get to decide whether to get them to hold it or not heck I may even get the missus to duck in each fortnight to make payments while I am away if I decide to go for it.
